“If it feels good do it.” “Everybody else is doing it.” “You’re an old fogey.” “Get with the times.” “This is the 21^st century.” “To each his own.” “That isn’t politically correct.”

How many times have we heard someone say these things? They aren’t new. Consider these verses from the Scriptures.

“You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,” (Deuteronomy 12:8 NIV)

“In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 17:6 ESV)

“In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25 ESV)

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.” (Proverbs 12:15 ESV)

“A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart.” (Proverbs (NIV)

Having read the above verses, I dare say that people of other ages probably said pretty much the same as we hear today.

People today, in these final years just prior to Christ’s return, are doing as they see fit and what is right in their own eyes. According to Proverbs 12:15 above, they are fools. So many misguided fools of our day think their ways are right, but they are not.

God weighs the heart. What does He consider when doing so? I’ll give you the short version. He asks of your heart and mine, “What have you done with my Son?”

Our society is hell-bent on destruction, and I personally believe that we in the United States of America will be judged harder than any other nation because we have been so richly blessed by God. We have been blessed because we formerly acknowledged God, not as a whole necessarily, but as a country. Currently, every day that passes is another that kicks God out of our way and brings us closer to His judgment.

“But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” (Luke 12:48 NIV)

We who knew better have allowed the Devil’s children to flex their muscles while we run off and hide.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44)

Now we are paying the price. All the toilets are plugged and the sewers are running over with the filth of corrupted minds. Don’t think so? Turn on the TV. Watch a movie. Look around you. We live in a society that promotes sin of every flavor and color while spitting in the face of God.

I read just the other day that 48% of the children in this country are born to unwed mothers. Of course this doesn’t take in to account the 1,370,000 that are murdered by way of abortion each year in this country alone.

An explosion of child abuse (physical, sexual and emotional) is racking our nation. Perverts are crawling out of the woodwork like roaches when the lights are turned off.

Murders and theft are common place in even small towns, and drug abuse is overwhelming the police agencies of our country.

This is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak. Every sin against God that is imaginable is consuming the very soul of this once great country. Why? Because we have decided we don’t need God. We will be our own god and determine what is right or wrong.

The Bible is clear throughout that righteousness can only be found in God. Absolute true righteousness was on display for the world in Jesus Christ, Who is God by the way, and we crucified Him.

The local courts and all the way up to the Supreme Court do not decide for God what is right and wrong. Presidents, Senators, and Congressmen do not decide for God what is right and wrong. The NEA and school boards do not know what is best for our children, and often neither do most parents. That can be seen in the little hoodlums we are raising. Many children today have little to no supervision, and what supervision they do have is not much to brag about.

Jesus Christ and His Word, the Bible, is the only measuring stick that God will allow. He will settle for no less. He doesn’t care what you and I think in the matter. He isn’t interested in your and my opinion. He has always had the line drawn in the sand, and said “This is it. Don’t cross it.”

Well guess what? We crossed it, and no matter how “good” we may become, we will never measure up to the righteousness of God Almighty. So what do we do?

We should fall upon our face before God and plead His mercy, and by the victory of His own Son Jesus, He will cloth us with His righteousness.

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” (Romans 10:3)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” (Isaiah 61:10)

We do not measure up to God’s yardstick and never will, but in Jesus, He will give us His righteousness.

Many who claim to be Christians today are going along with all the tripe that is coming from society and living by its standards. If you claim Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, how can you?

You and I don’t make the rules on what is right and wrong. God does. If you are living in a state contrary to God’s Word, take it to Him, and get it right. Unfortunately, I fear that far too many are compromising, and surely deep down within their soul, they know they are in sin.

No one in his right mind would use a faulty measuring device to build a house, but how many people do exactly that to build their life? Are you using the wrong yardstick to measure your life? Any yardstick that comes from mankind will not be true. Only God’s Word is true. How do I know what is true?

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

THE MULTITUDE OF EVIL ANGELS: CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE

IMAGINE THE GLORIOUS DAY WHEN EVERY EVIL SPIRIT IS JUDGED AND CAST FOREVER INTO THE REGION OF THE DAMNED.

The location of the city of Babylon will be the very spot where the Lake of Fire will be located. John, to whom Jesus Christ gave the Book of Revelation gave this description of these dark angels. “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” (Revelation 18:2) The word “habitation” clearly shows this as the place where the millennial saints and the natural multitudes will see God’s judgment of evil spirits.

The prophet Isaiah stated that the condemned crowd of men and women that take the Mark of the Beast will also be visible during the millennium. “And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” (Isaiah 66:24) This generation refuses to hear what the Bible says about the wicked and about eternal punishment.

One of the signs of this post-apostasy generation is the denial of an eternal Lake of Fire. Isaiah goes further in showing how the Lake of Fire and Hell that exists now in the heart of the earth will be joined together for eternity. “Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” (Isaiah 14:9-12)

It will all soon be one place of fire and brimstone. If God judges angels that were created higher than man, then you can rest assured that man’s judgment is coming. “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” (Jude 1:6-9) These angels are the ones which have gone unto the daughters of men and have borne Nephilims to terrorize mankind.

The Book of Genesis tells this story. “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” (Genesis 6:4-7) The word in the Hebrew for these offspring was Nephilims.

This same vice has probably plagued the earth all through the many generations. When angels did these hideous deeds they were placed in the bottomless pit or the abyss. This horde of fallen angels are seen to raise out of their prison during the Great Tribulation. They have been festering in this place of deep hell fire for centuries or millenniums and will arise to make havoc on mankind. “And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.” (Revelation 9:1-3)

This is the first crowd out of the pit. Then we see a second horde. “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.” (Revelation 9:13-18) It would be great to see the end of these two multitudes of fallen angels, but God chose not to show us.

The Lake of Fire is simply an extension of Hell that we see throughout the Bible. It’s enlightening to know that Hell or the Lake of Fire were not created for mankind. The fallen angels have no choice but every man and woman does. “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:…” (Matthew 25:41) These were the words of the Son of God. Every person has hope that will make that choice. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Whosoever will includes you.

HOW WE SHOULD REACT TO THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES

The signs of the end times are everywhere. The strange thing is that believers often react to the signs the very opposite of how God intends for us to react. As we witness such things as the spread of globalism, the building of a one-world church, the increase of wickedness, the breakdown of the traditional family, the destruction of that priceless bastion of liberty called America, the normalization of homosexuality, the callous murder of babies, the filthy pop culture, the breathtaking increase in governmental surveillance, we become fearful, uncertain, frustrated, angry, and discouraged, but this is because our minds and hearts are too focused on things of this world rather than things above. Too often we have the same short view that “conservative” unbelievers have rather than the long view that comes from the light of Bible prophecy.

Doubtless there will be frustration and discouragement, because we aren’t spiritual robots who are unaffected by our environment, but our response should be tempered by the truths of God’s Word. We should respond to the times in a dramatically different way than our unsaved friends and neighbors.
When we consider what is happening in the world, we should respond in at least the following ways:
First, we should rejoice greatly in our salvation.

“But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Pet. 4:13).

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:17-18).

No matter what we suffer in this present world, it is but for a moment in light of eternity with Christ. Every day we should walk in the joy of the gift of blinded eyes opened and salvation bestowed through Christ’s great Sacrifice.

Second, we should be comforted that Christ’s return is drawing near.

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Lk. 21:28).

“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words:” (1 Th. 4:15-18).

Each day brings us closer to the Rapture of the New Testament saints, and in this light, the signs of the times, though they are grievous for this present life, should be a cause of rejoicing for the believer.

Third, we should be encouraged that God is in control.

“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way” (2 Th. 2:7).

I love this verse at many levels. It explains why we cannot know the time of the Rapture, no matter how dark the situation gets and no matter how many “signs” are evident. I have often heard people say, “The Lord MUST come soon. It just CAN’T be much longer.” The fact is that we cannot know. We can’t know the hour, the day, or even the year or the decade. This is because the Spirit of God WILL let or restrain until He is taken out of the way. He came into the world in a special sense at Pentecost to empower the churches for world evangelism to call out a people for Christ’s name from among all nations, and He will continue to restrain the devil’s program until He is finished and not a moment before.

The devil is the god of this world, and his handiwork is everywhere evident, but he is not God and he is not in control of the times and the seasons.

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding” (Dan. 2:20-21).

At one level, it is frustrating to see the mystery of iniquity on a fast track in these days, but at the same time we must not despair in any sense. To despair is the position of unbelief.

Fourth, we should stand in the confidence that the present evil is exceedingly temporary and will soon be cut down.

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace” (Psa. 37:7-11).

Instead of fretting, God wants us to rest in Him and in His promises. When we do this we can be a powerful witness to the unbeliever who has no such source of comfort.

Fifth, we must do more praying.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” (1 Tim. 2:1-6).

Desperate times call for more praying, but we are witnessing a dearth of prayer in the typical Bible-believing church. There is lots of partying and lots of activities and fun but not a lot of praying.

No wonder there is no spiritual power to change things. No wonder we have to adopt carnal methods and pursue pragmatism and mess around with “church growth” techniques.

1 Timothy 2 ties prayer together with living a quiet and peaceable life and the liberty to preach the gospel, the very things that we want.

We need to get back to having a real “gather in little groups, get down on your knees” mid-week prayer meeting that consists of a serious time of earnest and effectual prayer rather than merely adding a five minute prayer to a regular service.
We need to get back to having prayer meetings before Sunday services.
We need to get back to having all-night prayer meetings.
We need to get back to having a series of “cottage prayer meetings” before special meetings and conferences.
We need to get back to having a private prayer closet for daily intercessory prayer.
We need to get back to having a family altar time of prayer.
We need to get back to having prayer partners with whom we regularly meet for prayer. It is a powerful and effectual thing to agree together in prayer before the Lord for particular requests.

I am convinced that the reason why it is so difficult to get the Lord’s people to attend real prayer meetings is that so few of them have an effectual intercessory prayer life.

Sixth, we must understand the times.

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Rom. 13:11).

We need to know the time, and we can only do that by a literal interpretation of Bible prophecy.

A literal interpretation teaches us that we cannot return to the 18th century when America was created or even the 19th or the 20th. That was a different time. The 21st century America cannot be re-created as something that existed in the past. It is obvious that the prophetic hour is very late and the Rapture is near. Israel is back in the land. The spirit of ancient Sodom is spreading across the face of the earth. Globalism rules in commerce and culture and politics in preparation for the rise of the man of sin. The nations are aligned against God and His anointed in fulfillment of Psalm 2. The apostasy of 2 Timothy 3-4 has spread with breathtaking speed. Even a large percentage of “evangelicals” today worship a false christ (as we have documented in The Collapse of Separatism, which is available in print and as a free eBook from Way of Life Literature).

What every IFB church needs to do is stop listening to unscriptural voices and pursuing pipe dreams, and focus rather on doing exactly what God has told us to do. Our job is not to build Christian nations; our job is to build godly, Bible-believing churches. We need to occupy ourselves with building a strong foundation in the knowledge of God’s Word, building godly, separated individuals and families, marking and avoiding the budding apostasy even in our own “circles,” and fulfilling the Lord’s Great Commission, and that commission is not about saving America or transforming the culture.

This will do far more to help America or Canada or wherever than pursuing the misguided and heretical “cultural activism.”

The root problem with America’s moral and social ills is the apostasy and compromise in the churches. This is the teaching of 2 Chronicles 7:14, which also states that the moral and social problems can be healed only by the repentance of God’s people.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

We have witnessed 40 years of intense cultural and political activism on the part of sincere but misguided people led by the likes of Jerry Falwell and D. James Kennedy. The result has been the exact opposite of the goal. The goal was to bring America back to God, but the result has been a precipitous deterioration of the nation’s moral condition. This is for the simple reason that this activism does not address the root problem and, in fact, it is part of the problem by producing further spiritual compromise in the churches through the heresy of ecumenism and illicit associations.

It has been said that a definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Finally, we should be busy in the harvest fields.

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:8-9).

The Bible plainly says that Christ is waiting because He wants to save souls.

He isn’t in a hurry. He isn’t shortsighted like we are, because He dwells in eternity. If a thousand years is as a day, then 41 years would be a mere hour. Actually, I am praying that God would give our mission field of South Asia another 41 years at least to hear the gospel, to have an opportunity to be saved (but at the same time there are so few doctrinally sound workers that it seems almost in vain).

  Instead of fretting at the signs of the times, we need to rededicate ourselves to proclaiming the gospel to every person in every nation and building sound Bible-believing churches where God’s people can be protected, edified, trained, discipled, and where godly Christian homes can be built and children can be prepared as arrows in the hand of the Lord to go out and do battle against the forces of evil.

It is my personal dedication to this task that keeps me from despairing and being angry and frustrated and discouraged at the signs of the times, such as the destruction of America, though I know as much about these things as most people and though I study them in order to publish O Timothy magazine and Friday Church News Notes.

At age 52 we returned to the “mission field” in one of the darkest parts of the world, where we had already spent more than 10 years preaching the gospel and planting churches, and at 63 we are more committed to and excited about missionary work than ever.

It is strange that at the very time when God’s people should be doubling down to fulfill the Great Commission, in a time when even in the midst of great turmoil we still have great freedom and many resources, the number of missionaries is decreasing, and the few who do go to the most spiritually needy parts of the world don’t have the commitment to stay by the stuff anymore, but instead seem to find any excuse to rush back to the land of comfort and plenty, the land where spiritual light is still shining brighter than any other part of the world, the land where full-time Christian workers abound, while so much of the rest of the world sits in unremitting darkness.

At the very time when we should be living like the pilgrims God’s Word says we are and focusing on God’s business rather than our own, so many are putting down the same roots as their unbelieving neighbors, trying to lay up a large nest egg, fretting about the stock market, wanting to build a bigger home or buy a fancier car, not being generous in missions giving, not spending even an hour a week in gospel work, not maintaining a daily intercessory prayer closet, not being faithful and fruitful members of Bible-believing churches, not encouraging their children to surrender to Christ’s Great Commission.

You say, “Our foolish leaders are bankrupting our nation and what will we do?”

The best thing to do is to believe the Psalmist when he says,

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psa. 37:25).

Friends, let’s wake up while we still have the opportunity! It is a joy to sell out to the Lord, and we should never be afraid of His perfect will, but there is going to be a lot of regret one of these days when we look back on hours, days, weeks, months, and years wasted on vanity while God’s work was left undone.

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest” (Lk. 10:2).

22 Stats That Prove That There Is Something Seriously Wrong With Young Men In America

When are we finally going to admit that we have a very serious problem with this generation of young men in America?  We have failed them so dramatically that it is hard to put it into words.  We have raised an entire generation of young males that don’t know how to be men, and many of them feel completely lost.  Sometimes they feel so lost that they “snap” in very destructive ways.  Adam Lanza and James Holmes are two names that come to mind.  Why is it that mass murderers are almost always young men?  Why don’t young women behave the same way?  Sadly, Adam Lanza and James Holmes are just the tip of the iceberg of a much larger problem in our society.  Our young women vastly outperform our young men in almost every important statistical category.  Young men are much more likely to perform poorly in school, they are much more likely to have disciplinary problems and they are much more likely to commit suicide.  In the old days, our young men would gather in the streets or in the parks to play with one another after school, but today most of them are content to spend countless hours feeding their addictions to video games, movies and other forms of entertainment.  When our young men grow up, many of them are extremely averse to taking on responsibility.  They want to have lots of sex, but they aren’t interested in marriage.  They enjoy the comforts of living at home, but they don’t want to go out and pursue career goals so that they can provide those things for themselves.  Our young men are supposed to be “the leaders of tomorrow”, but instead many of them are a major burden on society.  When are we finally going to admit that something has gone horribly wrong?

There is even a name for this generation of young men that does not want to grow up.  It is called the “Peter Pan generation”.  They want to enjoy the benefits of being grown up without ever taking on the responsibilities.  A member of this “Peter Pan generation” recent wrote an article for the Daily Mail in which he discussed what he and his friends are going through…

I haven’t yet had to grow up so, well, I haven’t.

Reckless, irresponsible and immature? Yes. But at least I can take comfort in the fact I am not alone.

Last week, I read that there is even a name for people such as me. We are the ‘Peter Pan generation’; a sizeable group of 25 to 40-year-olds who exist in a state of extended adolescence, avoiding the trappings of responsibility — marriage, mortgage, children — for as long as possible.

‘Our society is full of lost boys and girls hanging out at the edge of adulthood,’ says Professor Frank Furedi, a sociologist who has been studying this phenomenon, at the University of Kent.

‘Another word sometimes used to describe these people is “adultescent” — generally defined as someone who refuses to settle down and make commitments, and who would rather go on partying into middle age.’

Young men in America didn’t always behave this way.  Several decades ago, men in America moved away from home, got married and had children much earlier than they do now.  But the young men of today seem to want to put off the “markers of adulthood” for as long as possible.  The following is from an outstanding article by Sandy Hingston…

Sociologists cite five “markers” or “milestones” that have traditionally defined our notion of adulthood: finishing school, moving away from the parental home, becoming financially independent, getting married, and having a child. In 1960, 65 percent of men had ticked off all five by age 30; by 2000, only a third had. The experts have plenty of explanations for what’s come to be called “extended adolescence” or “emerging adulthood”—or what New York Times columnist David Brooks calls the “Odyssey Years.” They blame helicopter parents, the burden of student loan debt, much higher poverty rates among young people (nearly half of all Americans ages 25 to 34 live below the national level), and a dearth of vo-tech training and manufacturing jobs. Almost 60 percent of parents are now giving money to their grown kids—an average of $38,340 per child in the years between ages 18 and 34. Whatever happened to the son looking after his mom?

So why is all of this happening?

Well, there are a whole host of reasons.  But certainly parents and our education system have to bear much of the blame.  In the old days, young men were taught what it means to “be a man”, and morality was taught to young men both by their parents and in the schools.  But today, most young men have very little understanding of what “manhood” is, and our society has taught them that morality doesn’t really matter.  Instead, television and movies constantly portray young men as sex-obsessed slackers that just want to party all the time, so that is what many of our young men have become.

How much better off would our society be if we had trained this generation of young men to love, honor, protect and take care of others?

How much better off would our society be if we had nurtured the manhood of our young men instead of teaching them to be ashamed of it?

How much better off would our society be if we had disciplined our young men and taught them morality when they were getting off track instead of just letting them do whatever they wanted?

The following are 22 stats that prove that there is something seriously wrong with young men in America today…

#1 Males account for approximately 70 percent of all Ds and Fs in U.S. public schools.

#2 About two-thirds of all students in “special education programs” are boys.

#3 The average American girl spends 5 hours a week playing video games.  The average American boy spends 13 hours a week playing video games.

#4 The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.

#5 One study discovered that 88 percent of all Americans between the ages of 8 and 18 play video games, and that video game addiction is approximately four times as common among boys as it is among girls.

#6 At this point, 15-year-olds that attend U.S. public schools do not even rank in the top half of all industrialized nations when it comes to math or science literacy.

#7 In 2011, SAT scores for young men were the worst that they had been in 40 years.

#8 According to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only 37 percent of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find the nation of Iraq on a map.

#9 According to the New York Times, approximately 57 percent of all young people enrolled at U.S. colleges are women.

#10 It is being projected that women will earn 60 percent of all Bachelor’s degrees from U.S. universities by the year 2016.

#11 Even if they do graduate from college, most of our young men still can’t find a decent job.  An astounding 53 percent of all Americans with a bachelor’s degree under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed during 2011.

#12 Pornography addiction is a major problem among our young men.  An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic now goes to pornography websites, and one survey found that 25 percent of all employees that have Internet access in the United States even visit sex websites while they are at work.

#13 In the United States today, 47 percent of all high school students have had sex.

#14 The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate on the entire planet.  If our young men behaved differently this would not be happening.

#15 In the United States today, one out of every four teen girls has at least one sexually transmitted disease.  If our young men were not sex-obsessed idiots running around constantly looking to “score” these diseases would not be spreading like this.

#16 Right now, approximately 53 percent of all Americans in the 18 to 24 year old age bracket are living at home with their parents.

#17 According to one survey, 29 percent of all Americans in the 25 to 34 year old age bracket are still living with their parents.

#18 Young men are nearly twice as likely to live with their parents as young women the same age are.

#19 Overall, approximately 25 million American adults are living with their parents in the United States right now according to Time Magazine.

#20 Today, an all-time low 44.2% of Americans between the ages of 25 and 34 are married.

#21 Back in 1950, 78 percent of all households in the United States contained a married couple.  Today, that number has declined to 48 percent.

#22 Young men are about four times more likely to commit suicide as young women are.

20 Shocking Examples Of How Sadistic And Cruel People Have Become

How much sicker can people get?  It seems like our world is becoming more sadistic and more cruel with each passing day.  If you doubt this, just keep reading.  Sadly, I could have easily included hundreds more examples just like these.  Changes are happening to our society at a very deep and very fundamental level.  Everywhere you look, hearts are growing colder and it seems like we are completely surrounded by psychopaths and sociopaths.  But if all you do is listen to the mainstream media, you would be tempted to think that we are the smartest, most moral, most “enlightened” generation in all of human history.  Unfortunately, that is most definitely not the case.  Society is literally coming apart at the seams right in front of our eyes.  “Normal” crimes are not enough for many criminals these days.  Murders and rapes have become so common that often they barely get noticed by the newspapers, and so now many criminals seem to have the desire to make their crimes “twisted enough” to get noticed.  In other instances, people are doing really twisted things because they are high on drugs or they are into the occult.  Darkness is spreading, and we can see the evidence all around us.  But until we admit how bad things have really gotten and that what we are doing right now is clearly not working, then we won’t be ready for a solution.

Posted below are 20 examples of how sadistic and cruel people have become.  Please don’t read this list if you have a weak stomach, and please don’t let your young children read it.  I am trying to make it very clear that our society has become very sick, very twisted and very evil and so I have included a number of very graphic examples.  Believe me, the list below could have been even worse.  I decided to leave out some really wicked things that some degenerate parents have done to their own children.  But hopefully the list below will suffice to prove to you that we have a major problem on our hands.  Normal people don’t do these kinds of things…

#1 Down in Florida, authorities recently discovered four cats that had been shoved into sandwich bags and stuffed into a freezer.  Fortunately, three of the cats were still breathing when they were rescued, but the fourth cat did not make it.

#2 Animal welfare workers recently found 11 puppies that were dead and that had been skinned in a park in eastern Pennsylvania.

#3 Down along the Gulf of Mexico, authorities have been coming across a substantial number of dolphins that have “gunshot wounds, cuts and missing jaws“.  Authorities believe that there is a group of people out there on a “rampage” that are involved in mutilating these precious dolphins.

#4 A mother of four teenage children down in Florida shot them a total of 18 times at close range before turning the gun on herself and ending her own life.

#5 Christmas statues of baby Jesus and Joseph were beheaded by vandals in Portland, Oregon the other day.

#6 Down in Texas, one set of parents kept their 10-year-old son locked in a bedroom and only fed him bread and water for months.  Eventually he died of starvation and they dumped his body in a creek.

#7 In the Middle East, cutting out the tongue is increasingly being used as a form of punishment by gangs of Islamic radicals.

#8 The former executive director of a Salvation Army facility in Toronto has been accused of stealing thousands of toys that were intended to be given to little children.

#9 At one high school in California, a number of male students are being accused of participating in a “fantasy slut league” in which they would earn points for “documented engagement in sexual activities with female students”.

#10 Two twin brothers are accused of killing a journalist and encasing his body in concrete just so that they could steal his rare set of game cards.

#11 A pastor in north Texas was recently assaulted by an enraged man who beat him to death with an electric guitar.

#12 A 31-year-old man up in Canada was found guilty of raping an 8-year-old girl, breaking 16 of her bones and smashing her in the face with a hammer.

#13 Some prison inmates in North Carolina are alleging that correctional officers forced them to rub hot sauce on their most private areas.  Authorities are currently investigating these allegations of abuse.

#14 According to the FBI, a New York City police officer is being accused of “planning the kidnap, rape, torture and cannibilization of a number of women”.

#15 A Secret Service officer that had been assigned to protect Joe Biden’s residence has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

#16 All over the nation we have been seeing a bizarre string of “zombie attacks”.  The following is one example from Pennsylvania…

A Doylestown man, who was naked and bleeding profusely, gnawed on woman’s head all while “screaming like an animal” during a wild neighborhood rampage, state police said.

#17 Over in Texas, a very sick 29-year-old man stabbed his girlfriend to death and then burned his one-year-old baby alive because she had gone to court and filed for child support.

#18 A chef that was on trial for killing his wife in California reportedly confessed that he “slow cooked her body then dumped it out as kitchen waste”.

#19 A debt collector recently told a disabled veteran the following…

“If you would have served our country better you would not be a disabled veteran living off Social Security while the rest of us honest Americans work our asses off”

He also told the veteran that he “should have died”.

#20 Over in Utah, a 21-year-old man is accused of stabbing his grandmother 111 times and then removing her organs with a knife.

Sadly, these are not just isolated incidents.  As I have written about previously, the streets of many of our cities are being transformed into a living hell, and there are a whole bunch of statistics that show that the next generation of Americans is even more messed up than we are.

Even governments are becoming more sadistic and more cruel.  Just check out what is going on in the Netherlands…

Nuisance neighbours in Amsterdam will be exiled from the city and rehoused in ‘scum villages’ made up of caravans or containers under constant police supervision.

Holland’s capital already has a special hit squad of municipal officials to identify the worst offenders for a compulsory six month course in how to behave.

Social housing problem families or tenants who do not show an improvement or refuse to go to the special units face eviction and homelessness.

Can you imagine something like that happening in America?

If you don’t “behave” you get sent off to a “scum village” which is constantly monitored by the authorities?

This week on ‘The Hal Lindsey Report’ November 16th, 2012

 

 

As early as the mid-19th century, French philosopher and historian Alexis de Tocqueville warned that democracies will collapse once the majority realizes it can elect leaders who will give them free things. He said that all democracies die on the rocks of loose fiscal policies.

He also warned that the world’s great civilizations only last about two centuries.

Well, we’re working on our third century and the American electorate just got its first taste of the free goodies.

Some will argue that America has crossed the Rubicon; that the “gimme” generation has reached critical mass; that from this point on a majority of Americans will vote for a President based on what he will give them, not on how wisely he will lead the nation.

And the majority will vote this way because they are ensnared in the “entitlement trap.” And not by accident, unfortunately.

What else could explain the re-election of a leader who failed miserably to accomplish anything he promised in his first campaign? Yet repeatedly and clearly guaranteed that, if re-elected, he would double-down on his failures.

Wait a minute. I stand corrected. He did come through on one promise: ObamaCare. And it may help bankrupt America — which is not what he promised, but almost surely intended. (See the Cloward-Piven plan I described on “The Hal Lindsey Report” of July 9, 2010.)

Atlas Shrugged is a monumental novel written in the 1950′s by Ayn Rand, an atheist and philosopher-type. Ms. Rand believed that Reason is god and that man is his own greatest achievement. She was also an unabashed capitalist.

Atlas Shrugged imagines a dark, depressing American future where government intervention into the economy causes further economic downturn that extends and deepens the existing depression. In looking for someone to blame for the nation’s ills, the American leaders begin to blame the rich. They harass them for their ideas, initiative, profits, and wealth. Not to spoil the ending (although this is one of America’s most famous novels so you probably already know the ending), but the “men of the mind” go on a silent strike by shutting down the “motor of the world”, that is, their own inventiveness and industry.

In her epic work, Ms. Rand frames the confrontation as the “moochers and looters” versus the “inventors, workers, and the rich.” When the creators of work and wealth finally get fed up with having their efforts burdened with regulation and their rewards confiscated and redistributed, they check out. Eventually their loss starves the government of its financial ‘resources’ and, literally, Manhattan goes dark.

Sound familiar?

Interestingly, Ms. Rand wrote the book in the ’50′s and one of the pivotal years in her futuristic scenario is 2016.

As we used to say, that kind of gives cause for pause. But I’m not sure we’re going to make it to 2016. At least not on the path we’re following now. One thing I can guarantee, though, is that the America of 2016 will be a far cry from the America of 2012. And not for the better, I fear.

What we’ve recently witnessed in our nation calls to mind two poignant scriptures. One from the Apostle Paul and the other from God Himself delivered through the Apostle John.

Paul famously described these days in his second letter to Timothy. He says in part, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive… ungrateful, unholy… without self-control… treacherous… conceited… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God….” I won’t go on, but, believe me, it’s a letter-perfect description of present day America. You can read it for yourself at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NIV).

The second passage is found in the Apostle John’s Book of the Revelation. In it, God says to the church at Laodicea (which depicts the dominant characteristics of the Church just before the Rapture), “I know your deeds, that you’re neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” I won’t finish the passage, but you can find it at Revelation 3:15-18 (NIV).

I think God’s condemnation of Laodicea aptly fits many in today’s Church. How else can we explain how 21% of American evangelical Christians justified voting to re-elect President Obama, the first American president to openly support abortion, same-sex marriage, the forcing of religious institutions to violate their moral and spiritual codes, and who displays open hostility toward Israel.

I can understand a Christian voting for Mister Obama the first time. After all, he cleverly disguised his true beliefs on these issues. But I think the fact that 6.5 million born-again Christians voted for those values — after the President revealed his true convictions during his first term — tells us we are nearing the end of the prophetic timeline. Just as Paul and John described.

I truly believe Americans are in for some rough days ahead. But all is not dark. As I said last week, God is still in control and everything is unfolding just as the Bible prophets predicted. Rough times are coming, but they’re bringing with them unprecedented opportunities. Opportunities to see, up close, the hand of God at work. Opportunities to let Christ shine through your life and testimony. Opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who are discouraged, dismayed, and disappointed with how things are turning out.

Should Jesus delay His coming, the next few months and years will be the true Church’s greatest opportunity to reap a bountiful harvest of souls for God’s Kingdom. Let’s be ready for the moment and share the truth about Jesus Christ in boldness and joy. Take the scripture at face value. Speak the name of Jesus and speak the Word of God to others. It is “living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword….” It unleashes the power of the Holy Spirit to work in any situation, no matter how big or small.

By boldly sharing the claims of Christ and speaking the Word of God into someone’s life, you’re putting the ball in the Holy Spirit’s hands — and the Bible promises that He’s quite capable of taking it from there.

If we “crack the faith barrier” and trust God’s Word, I think the dark days ahead may well be the brightest yet.

Please have a wonderful Thanksgiving. In spite of all that is happening in America, it is still the most blessed nation on earth. God bestowed upon all of us who are fortunate enough to live here a truly magnificent favor. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for this wonderful land and all of Your blessings. May gratitude reign in our hearts.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3. God told Adam when He placed him in the Garden of Eden that he was not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If we look at Genesis chapter 3, which is what Paul refers to above, we find that Satan blatantly lied to Eve. “You will not surely die…” Genesis 3:4. So lies are now Satan’s forte. And after 6,000 years he’s become quite adept at disseminating his cloaked evil among the Christian Ekklesia.

 

That lie was the cause of an immeasurable rift between God and man. Jesus, of course, bridged that rift at the cross, but Satan would like nothing more than to undo what Jesus did 2,000 years ago. We know that Jesus’ sacrifice will never be voided, but that won’t stop His nemesis from creating as much havoc in this world while he still can.

 

Paul was fearful that the serpent’s beguiling of Eve would have the same detrimental effect on the Ekklesia of Christ and rightfully so. But unlike when he deceived Eve, today Satan’s evil lies are not so transparent – especially for those who are biblically illiterate. When Satan, through his lies, can instill an “I don’t care” attitude in the mind of a professing Christian he has just moved to first base. However, when the serpent can create doubt in the mind of a follower of Jesus Christ as to the accuracy of God’s word, then he has hit a homerun. Ultimately, as doubt manifests and festers, Satan moves in for the kill with “another gospel”, and with the acceptance of that false gospel he’s hit the grand slam of deceptions.

 

Let’s first understand who it is we are dealing with. The enemy of God has a name. In the Hebrew his name is “heylel”. In English his name means “light bearer”, or in the Latin “Lucifer”. The term “light bearer” can be very misleading, especially when we consider that he is the epitome of evil. Jesus Christ, the Creator of the world and the Creator of the “light bearer-Lucifer”, is the true Light of the world and of men. “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4. Darkness, when spoken of in our Bibles, is usually demonic “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:5 Most people today, including many Christians, deny the demonic realm exists. Others seem to have a bit of understanding when it comes to the demonic, but ignore it as though it was insignificant. Most people, even though they believe in the supernatural, misunderstand thus significantly underestimate the leader of that realm – and his power. What they don’t seem to grasp is that even though Lucifer/Satan is pure evil he avoids all appearance of evil like the plague.

 

To unmask his evil plans and parade them about in public would be detrimental to Satan’s agenda. What we must understand about this very powerful being is that he is able to pull off a huge deception concerning his malevolence. Satan and his followers make themselves appear as benevolent while disseminating their deceptions. Satan’s agenda is to steal, kill, and destroy humans; understandably, the transparency of his agenda wouldn’t go over well with his human prey. Therefore he must cloak his evil plans.

 

“…for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14. As he is able to transform himself into an “angel of light” he can put forth a demeanor of purity which cloaks his true intentions. This is why God tells us again and again to be ever diligent especially when it comes to God’s Word. There are many false teachers these days taking Satan’s lies to new levels.

 

Satan is evil, period. Yet his lies are always peppered with some truth. He is beguiling, crafty and extremely intelligent, far more so than any human being presently on earth. Therefore we must not only believe but we must also rely on God’s word for guidance. We rely on God Himself for our protection against this extremely evil foe, but believing God is paramount when it comes to understanding the enemy’s agenda. Remember, Satan knows the word of God also and he will use it as it suits his plan. Notwithstanding, his lies will always be hidden betwixt the truth – just enough to beguile. Satan once tried to beguile Jesus in the wilderness. How did Jesus answer him each time Satan confronted Him? By quoting Scripture. We must be just as biblically literate and diligent.

 

“Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness…” 2 Corinthians 11:15. The ministers Paul speaks of above are those who follow their father the devil by doing his bidding. Some are very public figures; some are Bible teachers, some lead Christian congregations, and some lead cults. If you think Satan’s ministers are only fallen angels and demons, then you too have been deceived. Satan has an army of ministers who are human and who are fully entrenched in his camp. They are those who stand in the shadow of the “light bearer” as they do their best to cloak Satan’s personification of evil.

 

Lies are meant to deceive, pure and simple; deception is always the path of the enemy. Satan continually uses his deceptive techniques to attract the unsuspecting (biblically illiterate) and lull them into a false sense of well being. To the biblically illiterate his evil is always cloaked, which makes these folks ripe candidates to follow anything that sounds true, good, or that makes life more comfortable. Remember, cloaked evil never resembles evil, but always takes on a pleasing, and fulfilling charismatic characteristic.

 

Throughout the past few thousand years Satan has had a tremendous and highly successful run at presenting evil as good. Many souls have been deceived right into Hell. God didn’t just dump us on this planet and leave us alone; He gave us warning after warning in His word so that we could avoid being led astray by the evil one. Increasingly in these last days it seems that even many of God’s own children are now more spiritually in tune with the evil one, than with God. As humankind moves ever closer to Christ’s return, it becomes more and more apparent that many professing Christians are nothing more than secular humanists in sheep’s clothing. Many of these folks have not only divided their loyalties, but have fully defected.

 

To be a true Christian means we stand with Jesus Christ, and not just during worship time or prayer time but in all times. We are never to stand opposed to our God, and as God’s children we are never to take on a secular worldview mindset. God never tells His children to wallow in the muck and mire of the secular world. We must sojourn in this world, but the world should never view us (or love us) as one of their own.

 

Clearly Jesus expects us to be the light of the world. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16. Jesus is adamant about the fact that we are never to hide our light but to always let it shine. When we choose to stand against God, because in our minds we’ve decided in the end our choices will justify the means, God sees this as unfaithfulness, and unfaithfulness is the same as slapping Him in the face.

 

Satan, once again, has raised his ugly head as the angel of light and convinced many Christians that we are to keep our faith completely separated from our own personal secular worldview. Here’s an example, abortion is so completely acceptable by mankind these days that we now murder the innocent, while still in the womb, and by the millions every year. Yet abortion is an abomination to God. Where are God’s children? Our silence in this regard speaks volumes.

 

I’ve heard it from many professing Christians that they have no problem with homosexuality, live and let live they say, thus through our own apathy homosexuality has been allowed to become so commonplace that the majority of humankind now not only condone this satanic evil but many desire to join in with these deceived individuals and play along.

 

The world is upside down and many professing Christians are siding with Satan in this regard as well as in other decisions that are purely secular and opposed to God. What do we, who revere the Bible as God’s truth, see occurring? The ever progressiveness of cloaked evil.

 

Those who stand with God, even under the most fierce condemnation that comes from the lost of this world, not to mention from many of our own brethren, are the true family of God . “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 4:3-4. Let mankind judge us. For their judgment is of no significance. God is our judge, and He judges righteously.

 

Instead of being a light on a hill, many Christians are actually as dark as the night. When we as the followers of Jesus Christ lose our saltiness we are good for nothing except to Satan. No salt? Satan has a job for you. He will conscript you into his service, and as you become his accomplice helping him in presenting his evil agenda, can you guess what your key responsibility will be? The cloaking and disseminating of his evil plans.

 

Only by believing God and what He has given us as His inerrant word can cloaked evil be unveiled. Studying God’s word for ourselves is vital. Here’s another example of a satanic lie cloaked. The phrase “judge not” is used, in many cases, by those who are into full on rebellion against God. People will use that phrase incessantly as they attempt to deflect any complaints of immorality from landing on their doorstep. The verse in question doesn’t mean we aren’t to use righteous judgment when confronted with deceptions and immorality, it simply means we are never to condemn others (that’s God’s domain). We are certainly never to accept Satan’s deceptions, the immoral actions of others, their lifestyles, or false religions and cults by siding with them, especially merely for convenience sake.

 

A major deception which Satan has performed in these last days is to convince the world that evil is good and pleasing, and good is now nothing more than an irritant which should be shunned. Many professing Christians seem to look at evil as something that is optional instead of obligatory to avoid. When “judge not” is implemented by Christians attempting to cover their sinfulness they become fully secular without any concern for their relationship with God. When we as Christians step away from our God for any reason we instantaneously enter the camp of Satan. When we step away from our faith and allow Satan to have his way in our lives, it means that we’ve just been deceived – Satan was successful at cloaking his evil again. Awareness of the cloaking and spiritual discernment is the key – evil cloaked is at the door, so is Jesus. Which will you let in?

I’m greatly encouraged by all the response to my prayer request. Please continue your prayers for my health. The MG continues to destroy the skeletal muscles in my body, thus the fatigue and eye problems are becoming more of a daily hindrance.
