A Fearful World

Darkness

By Grant Phillips

We are living in very unsettling times.

  • Wars and rumors of wars are a constant.
  • Financial collapse of the world monetary system looms ahead.
  • We, the USA, are approaching a 17 Trillion dollar debt, not reducing the budget, and spending like mad.
  • Gas prices are going up and who knows where they will end.
  • We will not tap into our own plentiful petroleum reserves, but remain dependent on those who hate us.
  • Hatred toward true Christianity is growing.
  • Satan is taking over the pulpits.
  • The nation of Israel could be squished like a bug by the big boots all around them, except for the God of Israel.
  • Taxes are going up.
  • Health costs are going up.
  • Unemployment is going up.
  • Will we lose our job?
  • Will we lose our house?
  • How can I afford to live just with the basics?
  • The federal government is taking more and more control of our lives.
  • Murder, theft, adultery, homosexuality, debauchery and all else that God hates is growing at an alarming rate.

Briefly stated, we are in deep doo-doo. How can we get up in the morning and get through the day without being afraid of what may come next? It is as though we are on a 747 at 40,000 feet and the engines are gone. There is only one direction we are going now, and that is down.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)

I honestly do not understand how anyone without Jesus Christ in their life can face this world without a soul-shaking, bone-rattling fear.

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible the term “fear not” occurs in 144 verses and 63 times exactly as quoted. It would seem to me that God does not want His children to have fear in their hearts.

The verse above says that perfect love casts out fear. It is certainly true that when the love of God is within us, the fear of the world diminishes.

Those my age are more fearful of what their children and grandchildren may experience than themselves. It’s only natural. This world doesn’t offer much, but it never did. Our only real hope of happy living is found in Jesus Christ. Unless you have it, you won’t understand it, but it’s true.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:17-18)

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)

In these two verses we find first of all that the Apostle John “fell at his feet as dead” when he beheld Jesus in His glory. Then we hear Jesus telling us in Matthew’s gospel to “fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The word “destroy” in this verse denotes, “to devote or give over to eternal misery in hell.”

Our pity should go toward those who don’t know Jesus as Savior and have to face Him in judgment.

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” (Revelation 1:7)

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:16-17)

I can’t begin to count the times I have heard someone use our Lord’s name as a curse word in a movie or TV episode. It seems to be the “in thing” today. If there is legitimacy in fear, it is with those who blaspheme His Holy name. We have nothing to fear who are under His saving grace, but woe to those who cast Him aside.

Jesus has given mankind many more opportunities than I ever would, and therefore that alone makes me glad He is in charge. But how much longer will His patience last until He decides it is time for judgment? How much more “in your face” behavior will He tolerate? Only He knows.

It is very obvious to those who are looking, that Satan’s time is running out. He is pulling out all the stops in preparation for his last stand, the Tribulation. This is a war he can’t lose, but he will. However in his bloated pride, I wonder if he actually thinks he may pull it off. He has much to lose and much to fear.

If you know Jesus as your Savior you have nothing to fear. If you do not, you can experience the peace that can only come from God by trusting in His Son to save you.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.” (John 14:27-29)

Let us rejoice that Jesus has gone unto the Father, that He has sent His Spirit to live within us, and that He is coming soon. In Him we can be at peace.

This world is on a collision course of destiny. Pay day is coming. Judgment is just around the corner. The days ahead are going to get much more terrifying than we can imagine. It seems bad now, but judgment is just clearing his throat.

There is much to fear from what is coming. However, in Jesus, there is nothing to fear.

APOCALYPTIC EVENTS- THE WRATH OF GOD IN THE ENDTIMES

Apocalyptic Events in the Endtimes

The word Apocalyptic is an adjective that describes the terrible things that are found in the Bible, as in the book of Revelation. The Greek word for Revelation is the noun Apocalypse. The word Apocalyptic is also used to describe events that are very terrible, evil, horrible, destructive, cataclysmic, widespread, unprecedented, and inexplicable. The Hebrew word Armageddon is the place of the final great war Re16:16. Armageddon is also used by many writers to describe a meltdown or collapse! Both words, Apocalyptic and Armageddon, are now being used more frequently in the media to describe unusual and cataclysmic world events.

For example, Japan in 2011, suffered an Apocalyptic earthquake, tsunami, and a nuclear Armageddon. America now has an Apocalyptic debt and is facing a financial Armageddon. The PIIGS countries in Europe- Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greek and Spain, are also facing financial Armageddon. In summer 2010, Russia had an Apocalyptic wildfire, Pakistan, an Apocalyptic flood for nearly 30 days and N. Australia, an Apocalyptic rainfall of 30 to 50 inches. In January 2011 both Australia and Brazil suffered Apocalyptic mudslides. For the past winters and very recently, Japan, Europe, Russia, and the US have experienced extreme Apocalyptic winter storms. In February a very heavy blizzard  blasted the northeast US. The Weather Central dubbed this snowstorm of historic proportion, Winter Storm Nemo, which is OMEN spelt backwards. Why are terrible, strange, and seemingly Apocalyptic things happening today? Is God responsible for these Apocalyptic storms and Apocalyptic natural disasters happening today?

SHATTERING SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH (ACTS 2:19)

steeple
By Pastor Joseph Chambers

THE CROSS WAS RIPPED FROM THIS CHURCH STEEPLE IN MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA AS PERFECT PROOF OF GOD’S ANGER OVER WICKEDNESS. Our world is on a crash course against the Creator Himself. Even worse, when He reveals “His Holiness”against the Church’s wickedness, they ignore Him. I just learned of a plainly divine response to the wicked compromise in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. It occurred almost four years ago and cannot be dismissed.

The picture above is of the hanging cross that was ripped from the steeple. This happened at the exact time that the representatives of the church were meeting to decide to ordain actively homosexuals as ordained ministers. They did not even care what the “God Of Heaven” had to say. THE CROSS REPRESENTS THE SACRED SPLENDOR OF THE SACRIFICIAL DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE SINS OF ALL MANKIND. THE FATHER REFUSED TO LET IT REMAIN ABOVE SUCH BLATANT GODLESSNESS.

(Here is the report) “An unexpected, violent storm damaged a convention hall where a church body was discussing ordaining openly homosexual ministers and giving sanction to same-sex marriages. It had to be a coincidence, right? S. T. Karnick analyzes the implications.

Most reasonable human beings profess, quite correctly, to be skeptical toward very improbable coincidences. In such cases we are wisely inclined to look for a author’s hand behind the events. In evaluating novels and films, for example, we tend to frown on too-obvious and convenient coincidences that move the plot forward or convey too clear a meaning. The same is true of our understanding of reality: when we see too strange a coincidence, we look for an underlying cause. For example, when we run into someone quite unexpectedly, we look for reasons they might have been there, instead of just accepting that coincidences happen. That is indeed the right way to look at things. We recognize that cause-and-effect is a central truth of life, and we naturally look for causes when something seems far out of the ordinary.

Thus it’s difficult to dismiss the very odd thing that happened just as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) was voting to approve a “social statement on human sexuality” designed to open the way for congregations to be led by openly homosexual ministers and to make way for ELCA to perform same-sex marriages. A fierce storm described by many as a tornado unexpectedly ripped through downtown Minneapolis, where the ELCA convention was taking place, and damaged the convention center where the meeting was taking place, along with the ELCA church across the street–even knocking over the church’s steeple in a bizarrely symbolic occurrence.

An eyewitness described the storm as a “fast-moving, misshapen, unusually-wide funnel over downtown Minneapolis.” The statement on sexuality passed by the exact number of votes required, just reaching the necessary two-thirds majority. On Friday the assembly approved, as expected, a rule allowing congregations to be led by open homosexuals.

As the Washington Post reported, jokes that the storm was a sign of God’s wrath “proved inevitable” at the convention hall. The attendees clearly were looking for a causal connection, and not finding an appealing one, understandably resorted to dismissive humor.

Others don’t think the situation is such a joke. Gerald Kieschnick, president of the second-largest Lutheran body in the United States, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, addressed the ELCA assembly on Saturday, the day after ELCA’s vote to allow openly homosexual clergy, expressing dismay at the ELCA decision and directly stating that it contradicted the explicit teachings of the Bible: “The decisions by this assembly to grant non-celibate homosexual ministers the privilege of serving as rostered leaders in the ELCA and the affirmation of same-gender unions as pleasing to God will undoubtedly cause additional stress and disharmony within the ELCA. It will also negatively affect the relationships between our two church bodies. The current division between our churches threatens to become a chasm. This grieves my heart and the hearts of all in the ELCA, the LCMS, and other Christian church bodies throughout the world who do not see these decisions as compatible with the Word of God, or in agreement with the consensus of 2,000 years of Christian theological affirmation regarding what Scripture teaches about human sexuality. Simply stated, this matter is fundamentally related to significant differences in how we [our two church bodies] understand the authority of Holy Scripture and the interpretation of God’s revealed and infallible Word.”

In a published statement, Kieschnick cited specific Scripture passages in making his point: The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod has repeatedly affirmed as its own position the historical understanding of the Christian church that the Bible condemns homosexual behavior as “intrinsically sinful.” It is therefore contrary to the will of the Creator and constitutes sin against the commandments of God (Lev. 18:22, 24,20:13; 1 Cor. 6:9-20; 1 Tim 1:9-10; and Rom. 1:26, 27).

In that same statement, Kieschnick acknowledged that ELCA has a right to decide what it wants to do, but he stood firm on the position that positions that contradict the Bible cannot be characterized as Christian: We respect the desire to follow conscience in moral decision making, but conscience may not overrule the Word of God.

In addition, he noted, a great many ELCA members disagreed with the church body’s decision, and Kieschnick offered them “our assurance of loving encouragement together with our willingness to provide appropriate support in their efforts to remain faithful to the Word of God and the historic teachings of the Lutheran church and all other Christian churches for the past 2,000 years.” Meaning, of course, that ELCA was no longer a recogizably Christian church in many of its doctrines, and those who wanted to leave would get LCMS support. Which certainly makes sense.

As to the storm, much commentary has arisen stating explicitly that it was God’s judgment and warning to the church. A very good blog post by John Piper outlines the extraordinary event: A friend who drove down to see the damage wrote, “On a day when no severe weather was predicted or expected . . . a tornado forms, baffling the weather experts—most saying they’ve never seen anything like it. It happens right in the city.” The city: Minneapolis.

The tornado happens on a Wednesday . . . during the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s national convention in the Minneapolis Convention Center. The convention is using Central Lutheran across the street as its church. The church has set up tents around its building for this purpose. According to the ELCA’s printed convention schedule, at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 19, the 5th session of the convention was to begin. The main item of the session: “Consideration: Proposed Social Statement on Human Sexuality.” The issue is whether practicing homosexuality is a behavior that should disqualify a person from the pastoral ministry.

The eyewitness of the damage continues: This curious tornado touches down just south of downtown and follows 35-W straight towards the city center. It crosses I-94. It is now downtown. The time: 2 PM, THE EXACT TIME THE MEETING FOR THIS DANDEROUS VOTE WAS TO BEGIN. THAT’S GOD’S TIMING TO SHOW HIS ATTENTION TO SUCH ACTION BY THOSE CLAIMING TO SPEAK FOR HIM.

The first buildings on the downtown side of I94 are the Minneapolis Convention Center and Central Lutheran. The tornado severely damages the convention center roof, shreds the tents, breaks off the steeple of Central Lutheran, splits what’s left of the steeple in two . . . and then lifts. Piper’s conclusion, shared by many across the nation (as a simple Web search will quickly confirm), is that the storm was indeed a message from God:

The tornado in Minneapolis was a gentle but firm warning to the ELCA and all of us: Turn from the approval of sin. Turn from the promotion of behaviors that lead to destruction. Reaffirm the great Lutheran heritage of allegiance to the truth and authority of Scripture. Turn back from distorting the grace of God into sensuality. Rejoice in the pardon of the cross of Christ and its power to transform left and right wing sinners.

During the Medieval Era, of course, such a thing would have been taken for granted as true. In our more enlightened, sophisticated time, we see through such superstitions. Instead, we believe in bizarre coincidences–as long as it means we can continue to deny God.–S. T. Karnick (END OF REPORT)

In a few weeks, after the present series on the Holy Spirit, I plan to spend a good deal of time on “SIGNS UNDENIABLE IN THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH.” We will document many Biblical proofs that our great God is beginning to judge this world system. The Scripture has promised, “And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2: 19-21) It is time to get right with God.

YOU HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING YET.

More Amazing Video on Russian Meteor Explosion

MOSCOW – With a blinding flash and a booming shock wave, a meteor blazed across the western Siberian sky Friday and exploded with the force of 20 atomic bombs, injuring more than 1,000 people as it blasted out windows and spread panic in a city of 1 million.
While NASA estimated the meteor was only about the size of a bus and weighed an estimated 7,000 tons, the fireball it produced was dramatic. Video shot by startled residents of the city of Chelyabinsk showed its streaming contrails as it arced toward the horizon just after sunrise, looking like something from a world-ending science-fiction movie.
The meteor above western Siberia entered the Earth’s atmosphere about 9:20 a.m. local time at a hypersonic speed of at least 54,000 kph and shattered into pieces about 30-50 kilometers high, the Russian Academy of Sciences said. NASA estimated it released 300 to 500 kilotons of energy and left a trail 500 kilometers long. Chelyabinsk is about 1,500 kilometers east of Moscow in the Ural Mountains.
The shock wave blew in an estimated 100,000 square meters of glass, according to city officials, who said 3,000 buildings in Chelyabinsk were damaged. At a zinc factory, part of the roof collapsed.
The Interior Ministry said about 1,100 people sought medical care after the shock wave and 48 were hospitalized. Most of the injuries were caused by flying glass, officials said.
Scientists estimated the meteor unleashed a force 20 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb, although the space rock exploded at a much higher altitude.
Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Vladimir Purtin said many of the injured were cut as they flocked to windows to see what caused the intense flash of light, which momentarily was brighter than the sun.
There was no immediate word on any deaths or anyone struck by space fragments.
Some meteorite fragments fell in a reservoir outside the town of Chebarkul, the regional Interior Ministry office said. The crash left an eight-meter crater in the ice.
Russian television ran video of athletes at a city sports arena who were showered by shards of glass from huge windows. Some of them were still bleeding.
Other videos showed a long shard of glass slamming into the floor close to a factory worker and massive doors blown away by the shock wave.
Meteors typically cause sizable sonic booms when they enter the atmosphere because they are traveling so much faster than the speed of sound. Injuries on the scale reported Friday, however, are extraordinarily rare.
The many broken windows exposed residents to the bitter cold as temperatures in the city were expected to plummet to minus 20 Celsius (minus 4 Fahrenheit) overnight. The regional governor put out a call for any workers who knew how to repair windows.
Social media was flooded with video from the many dashboard cameras that Russians mount in their cars, in case of pressure from corrupt traffic police or a dispute after an accident.
NASA said the Russian fireball was the largest reported since 1908, when a meteor hit Tunguska, Siberia, and flattened an estimated 80 million trees. Chelyabinsk is about 5,000 kilometers west of Tunguska. The Tunguska blast, attributed to a comet or asteroid fragment, is generally estimated to have been about 10 megatons.
The 50-metre space rock that safely hurtled past Earth at 2:25 p.m. EST Friday was dubbed Asteroid 2012 DA14 and was discovered a year ago. It came closer than many communication and weather satellites that orbit 22,300 miles up.
The asteroid was invisible to astronomers in the United States at the time of its closest approach on the opposite of the world. But in Australia, astronomers used binoculars and telescopes to watch the point of light speed across the clear night sky.
Jim Green, NASA’s director of planetary science, called the back-to-back celestial events an amazing display. “This is indeed very rare and it is historic,” he said on NASA TV.
One of the most popular jokes was that the meteorite was supposed to fall on Dec. 21, 2012 — when many believed the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world — but was delivered late by Russia’s notoriously inefficient postal service.

Sources are saying a large spacial body is on it’s way here, passing by closer and larger than any asteroid so far. It has to pass through the asteroid belt on it’s way here. Scientists say to be ready for cataclysm.

And when the reporter said it, he stated that the scientists who spoke to him told him, “It probably will not impact the earth, but just in case, you might want to make peace with your God!”
